This page explains the new features and changes in the P-1 v3.27 firmware release.
P1 Sync is a new feature for linking two P-1 units over MIDI. The LEADER sends song selection, setlist selection, play, pause, stop and scrub position to the FOLLOWER, which will mimic the leader's behaviour. The menu setting has 3 modes: OFF, LEADER, and FOLLOWER.
Both units should be on v3.27 firmware when using P1 Sync together. P1 Sync uses MIDI channel 16 internally, and a FOLLOWER receives sync traffic but does not transmit it.
You can now scrub forwards and backwards in songs that contain both audio and MIDI.
If P1 Sync is enabled, scrub movements are mirrored when one unit is set to LEADER and the other is set to FOLLOWER.
This release expands the MIDI control options for the P-1.
The MIDI input channel is now configurable in Settings > MIDI Settings > MIDI In Channel. The default is channel 15.
| Control | What changed |
|---|---|
| Virtual PLAY footswitch | CC 28: any nonzero value = press, 0 = release. D2 / Note 38: Note On = press, Note Off = release. Both follow the current CONTROL SYSTEM, just like the physical PLAY footswitch. |
| Bank Select | CC0 / Bank Select can now arm a setlist for a following Program Change, CC 19, or CC 20. |
| Output level control | CC 9 controls headphone level, and CC 85 to CC 90 control output levels 1 to 6. These changes are temporary and are not saved to the song or setlist. |
P1 Sync traffic on MIDI channel 16 is separate from the user-selected MIDI input channel.
The main Settings page now contains:
TIME COUNTER chooses between ELAPSED and REMAINING.
At End now includes a new STOP option for end-of-song behaviour.
Send MIDI Clock can now clock external MIDI gear from the song BPM even on audio-only songs. Receive MIDI Clock allows the P-1 to respond to incoming Start, Continue, and Stop transport messages.
AUX INPUT can now be switched to UNBALANCED if you are feeding the AUX input from an unbalanced or stereo 3.5mm source. AUX GAIN can now be increased up to +18 dB using a digital gain for quieter AUX sources.
